Hays Education is proud to be working in partnership with a number of primary schools across Rugby to recruit passionate and committed KS1 Teaching Assistants. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who want to make a real difference in the classroom and support children during their crucial early years of learning. As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils, helping them to develop essential literacy, numeracy, and social skills. You will work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging lessons and provide targeted support to pupils who need extra help.
Your new role
- Assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support, focusing on literacy and numeracy interventions.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and adapt resources to meet individual needs.
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being in the classroom.
- Prepare learning materials and contribute to classroom displays.
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience working with children in a school setting.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A proactive, flexible approach and a genuine passion for supporting young learners.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
