Summary
the succesful candidate will be required to undertake the day-to-day management and control of designing and implementation traffic regulation orders to assist parking enforcement and infrastructure projects, strategies and schemes, commensurate with the post holder's area of responsibility and on behalf of the designated Parking Manager. To include management, design and implementation of temporary and permanent traffic regulations orders and parking permit schemes.
Assist the Parking manager in preparation for consultation with elected members, members of the public and all relevant parties with regard to proposed traffic regulation orders, parking permit schemes and other initiatives and projects and represent the council at local and regional meetings commensurate with the post holder's area of responsibility.
Requirements of the role
Minimum Level 3 attainment in parking, engineering or business administration related subject
Minimum Grade C GSCE Maths & English
Minimum 2 years working in a traffic management or highway safety related discipline
Knowledge of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002, The Traffic Signs Manual.
Knowledge of Highways Act 1980.
Knowledge of Traffic Management Act 2004
Working Knowledge of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Knowledge of a Highway Authority’s statutory highway safety and management functions, policies and procedures, including experience in the following areas.
Preparing and delivering permanent traffic regulation orders.
Preparing temporary traffic regulation orders.
Highway scheme design and delivery.
Programme and project management.
Stakeholder engagement.
Awareness of other related highway best practice, design guidance and codes of practice.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD / Parkmap or similar technical drawing software.
