Do you care about the environment you live in?

Do you want to make positive change?

Are you a self-assured individual, perhaps looking to do something a little different?

An opportunity has arisen for a positive and ambitious person to work within our Planning Services Team and to play a key role in ensuring that developer contributions are collected at the right time and properly managed.

This is a newly created post, so the postholder will have the ability to work with managers to shape and define the role based around a number of tasks day-to-day, including:

Data handling and maintenance of data on our systems (primarily using Microsoft Excel and specialist software by Idox).
Communicating with external stakeholders to monitor payment triggers and respond to queries, often by phone and email.
Financial tasks, including calculating payment amounts and raising invoices.
The successful candidate will be responsible for recording developer contributions secured through Section 106 agreements, which are crucial in securing the infrastructure that the island needs as part of the growth agenda. You will monitor payment triggers and collect financial contributions from developers, and will also ensure that material works are undertaken by developers as required by Section 106 agreements. The role also includes responding to requests for information regarding developer contributions.

You will be part of a professional and friendly team working across a number of the Council's functions. If you enjoy interacting with customers, developing processes and learning new software, this could be a great fit for you.
