Summary
Serve as the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the setting.
Plan and oversee long, medium and short term curriculum planning, in line with the EYFS, monitoring it's effectiveness and liaising with external professionals where appropriate.
Ensure the delivery of high quality teaching and learning, including effective staff deployment and enrichment for all children.
Maintain and implement an action plan aimed at achieving a minimum 'Good' Ofsted rating at the next inspection.
Manage staff performance systems, including induction, probation, supervision, team meetings, training and appraisals.
Provide appropriate support for all staff, including the Early Years SENCO.
Plan, organise and oversee the daily programme of activities and events.
Implement effective observation and assessment systems, ensuring children's progress is regularly monitored and documented.
Lead the key person system and supervise staff, monitoring teaching quality and identifying training needs.
Promote and ensure the safety and welfare of all children, acting promptly on any safeguarding concerns.
Maintain accurate records, including attendance registers and accident/incident logs.
Build strong relationships with parents/carers, sharing information about the curriculum and children's progress, and encouraging development.
Ensure a safe, hygienic and well-maintained environment, including regular fire drills and equipment checks.
Liaise with the Management Committee, Ofsted and other professionals, ensuring all statutory and legal requirements are met, and providing reports as required.
