Recruitment Profile

Based in the Economic Development Service of the Resilient Communities Directorate, the Senior Economic Development Officer within the Investment Team, will be responsible for co-and supervising economic development programs that support sustainable economic growth and business development region wide. Officers have a responsibly to act as key liaison between public, private and third sector organisations to collectively contribute to achieving the objectives of the South of Scotland Regional Economic Strategy. This includes contributing to the development of community wealth building, maximising employment, providing access to skills and training and a transition to net zero and supporting business growth utilising a Place based approach.
Reporting to the Strategic Economic Investment Programme Lead, you will develop and deliver strategies and programmes that will produce measurable economic impacts and benefits for the Scottish Borders region.

Essential

Degree or diploma in a subject relevant to Economic Development (eg Economics, Business Studies, Marketing, Construction, Architecture, Energy, Digital, Planning ) or equivalent relevant work experience; Ongoing commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
