Summary
The Best Connection West Bromwich has a fantastic opportunity for an Maintenance Engineer to join our clients fantastic manufacturing/distribution centre based within the heart of West Bromwich.
- Pay: £18.20 per hour + premium shift allowance.
- Hours: WEEKLY ROTATION week 1 Monday - Friday 06:00 - 14:00 & week 2 14:00 - 22:00 (early finish on a Friday).
- Immediate start - Interview & CV is required before starting this role.
You will be working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, please see main duties below.
Daily duties include:
- Use your specialist equipment knowledge to support breakdown repairs and planned preventative maintenance, accurately recording any issues or recurring trends.
- Respond to engineering breakdowns and provide essential technical support.
- Carry out comprehensive electrical and mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting.
- Work collaboratively within the engineering team to drive best practice and ensure consistent, reliable production.
- Work towards and achieve agreed performance targets aligned with departmental and site KPIs.
- Complete allocated maintenance tasks to the highest standard, within set timeframes, ensuring all work is accurately documented.
- Respond to breakdowns or emergency situations on plant and equipment as required (including potential call-outs).
- Use hand tools and maintenance equipment safely and correctly.
- Utilise measuring instruments for equipment installation, modification, and calibration.
- Follow correct manual handling techniques when moving materials or equipment.
- Report any malfunctioning plant or equipment promptly.
- Keep the work area clean, tidy, and safe at all times.
- Liaise effectively with internal teams, external departments, and customers.
- Ensure all plant and equipment maintenance records are kept up to date.
- Install new parts and components as required.
- Repair faults or arrange for replacements where necessary.
- Keep production managers updated on job progress.
- Carry out scheduled checks on machinery and components.
- Clean and lubricate machinery and parts as part of routine maintenance.
- Overhaul and replace components in line with maintenance schedules.
