Location: West Bromwich
Hours: 39 hours per week, 2-week rotating shift pattern

Week 1: Monday – Thursday 6am – 2pm & Friday 6am – 1pm

Week 2: Monday – Thursday 2pm – 10pm & Friday 1pm – 8pm
Hourly Pay: £18.20 + 22% shift allowance
About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team in West Bromwich, ensuring the continuous running of equipment and machinery. You will be responsible for responding to breakdowns, performing planned maintenance, and supporting improvements to production facilities and new installations.
This role is critical in reducing downtime, improving reliability, and maintaining the safety and efficiency of plant, personnel, and production processes.
Key Responsibilities-
Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults, including robot and welding cells, presses, plastic injection, plastic extrusion, and rolling mills.

Undertake planned preventative maintenance and record any adverse trends or symptoms.

Fit new parts, overhaul equipment, and ensure machinery operates to the highest standards.

Perform regular inspections, oiling, cleaning, and scheduled maintenance of machinery.

Provide technical support and advice to the engineering and production teams.

Use hand tools, measuring instruments, and specialist equipment safely and correctly.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all work areas remain clean, tidy, and safe.

Liaise with internal departments and clients as required.

Respond to emergency breakdowns and support call-out situations as needed.
What We’re Looking For-
NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

17th Edition Electrical qualification.
-
Time served in mechanical and electrical disciplines.
-
Experience with PLC inputs/outputs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and safe working practices.

Skilled in fault diagnosis and repair across a variety of manufacturing machinery.

Knowledge of robot/welding cells, plastic injection, extrusion, presses, and rolling mills.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and principles.

Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.

Proactive, innovative, and flexible with a strong motivation for self and team.
Objectives in this Role-
Ensure machinery and equipment are operating reliably and safely.

Minimise downtime through effective fault diagnosis and maintenance.

Support continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering department.

Maintain accurate records of all maintenance actions and equipment status.

Contribute to the overall efficiency, safety, and productivity of the manufacturing facility.
