Summary
Communication and relationship skills Deal with sensitive situations, including considering how the impact of any changes being made through improvement projects may affect the current working arrangements and practices of staff and manage communication methods accordingly. Answer telephone and email queries from patients, colleagues, and external providers. Provide expertise and project co-ordination in relation to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of LCS data capture and quality. Analytical skills Provide expertise and project co-ordination in relation to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of LCS data capture and quality. Take responsibility for leading on specified work streams that support the improvement of LCS data. Evaluate the working systems and existing processes within the LCS programme and redesign processes requiring improvement whilst also addressing any training and development requirements. Carry out daily and weekly quality checks, using the Trusts incident recording systems to report discrepancies found. Planning and organisation skills Provide high-quality day-to-day administrative support to the LCS team, managing own workload and using judgement and experience to help prioritise work. Attend MDT meetings as required and take relevant meeting notes. Work without direct supervision and on own initiative, managing day-to-day office functions and liaising with departments both internal and external to the LCS services as required. Responsibility patient/client care To answer telephone and email queries from patients, colleagues, and external providers To assist in electronic filing of patient reports and results. Duties in relation to information resources Operate SystemOne in order to verify registration and clinical details and update as appropriate. Update all episodes with screening results in accordance with local and programme guidelines and change and make appointments in response to telephone enquiries. Receive, collate, and compute requests for CT scans, and liaise with appropriate members of staff regarding appointments. Freedom to Act Adhere to Health and Safety Trust legislation and infection control policies. To comply at all times with any regulations issued by the Trust, especially those governing Health and Safety at Work and Infection Prevention and Control to ensure that any defects which may affect safety at work are brought to the attention of the appropriate manager.
