Crynodeb
Ambassadors Resourcing is looking to expand our team of experienced full-time SEN Teaching Assistants to work in temporary, short-term or long-term positions in SEN primary, secondary and sixth-form schools in Lozells. The roles involve supporting children with additional needs, including autism, ADHD and specific communication difficulties. This role could also include supporting children and young people with profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). Experience of Makaton, PECs and Team-Teach is preferable, but not essential.
Job Description
• The successful SEN Teaching Assistants will:
• Have a passion and commitment to supporting children who have SEN
• Be confident in building effective relationships with pupils on a 1:1 basis
• Encourage pupils to interact with others
• Support teachers with planning, preparation and carrying out of inspiring
activities
• Have strong behaviour management skills
• Be flexible, dynamic and compassionate, with excellent interpersonal skills
• Encourage independence, helping the children with transition around school
and personal care needs
• Actively promote and support safeguarding of all children, ensuring that all the
policies and procedures of the schools and Ambassadors Resourcing are
observed and responsibilities understood.
Requirements
• The successful SEN Teaching Assistants must:
• Have a minimum of NVQ level 2 or 3 or the equivalent in Childcare and
Education or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
• Have experience and knowledge of working with pupils with autism and SEN
• Have previous experience of working in a SEN school or a Resource Base
• Have the ability to speak fluent English, as this post is covered by Part 7 of the
Immigration Act (2016).
• Have a legal right to work in the UK
• Have/acquire an enhanced Child & Adult Workforce DBS and Overseas Police
Clearances (if applicable)
• Provide 2 professional childcare & education references covering the last 2
years
• Shortlisted candidates will be subject to Check a Teacher’s Record and an
online search as part of Ambassadors Resourcing Safer Recruitment checks
• Will attend an in-person interview which will include questions about
safeguarding and the candidate’s understanding of working with children and
young people
• Please note that this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act
