Post: Lunchtime Supervisor
Contract Type: Fixed Term (Maternity Cover until September 2026)
Salary Range: SCP3 SCP4 (£24,027.00 - £24,404.00 FTE - Salary to be pro rata £2,824.55 - £2,868.87) Salary amounts quoted are from the 1 September to 31 August and therefore if you commence employment part way through the academic year they are subject to an equated salary adjustment
Working Type: Part Time [5 hours/38 weeks +2 days]
Base: The Ferns Primary Academy, Plodder Lane, Farnworth, Bolton, BL4 0DA
Please note: The post holder will be engaging in regulated activity, working mainly or wholly with children. This position is exempt from the rehabilitation of offender’s act 1974. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.

We are looking for a caring and responsible Lunchtime Supervisor to join our team!
At The Ferns Primary Academy, we pride ourselves on creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment for all our pupils. We are seeking an enthusiastic Lunchtime Supervisor to help ensure our children have a happy and safe lunchtime experience - both in the dining hall and during playground activities.
Key responsibilities:
Supervising children in the dining hall, classrooms and playgrounds during lunchtime breaks.
Encouraging good behaviour and helping children with any concerns/conflicts.
Supporting children in developing social skills and positive play.
Administering basic first aid when required (training will be provided).
Ensuring the safety and welfare of all pupils during lunchtime.
Ideal candidate:
Enjoy being around children and have an interest in developing children’s play in the playground.
Kind, caring and understanding of children’s needs.
Able to work as part of a team to ensure a happy and healthy lunchtime experience for all pupils.
Are flexible, adaptable and able to work where the need is greatest, whether in the lunch hall, classroom or playground.
Able to use own initiative to ensure a safe, calm and enjoyable environment.
