Summary
The role is based in haematology and blood transfusion at UHCW, however there will be an expectation to rotate to other sites when required. The role involves the issue of high quality blood results for haematology, blood transfusion, coagulation and blood film morphology. Some specialist Haematology testing is performed at this site such as Hb electrophoresis. This role also involves the safe issue of blood, blood components and blood products to patients in routine and emergency circumstances. It will involve ensuring quality management systems are maintained. Staff will be expected to carry out audits following appropriate training.
