Location: Bridgwater & surrounding sites
Pay Rate: £18.50 – £22.50 per hour (DOE)
Annual Equivalent: £30,000 – £50,000 per year
Job Type: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
Hours: 39–60 hours per week (4 on / 4 off – days & nights)
Additional: Overtime available most weeks, trial days/period initially
We are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a busy engineering team working across Bridgwater and nearby client sites. This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity offering strong earnings, varied work, and regular overtime.
What You’ll Be Doing:• Travelling to customer sites in and around Bridgwater
• Carrying out maintenance, shutdowns, installations, and machine upgrades
• Completing PPM work and responding to mechanical faults
• Stripping equipment down, diagnosing issues, and completing repairs
• Working as part of a team or independently
• Supporting shift cover when required
• Workshop-based repairs when not on customer sites
• Minimum 2 years’ mechanical fitting experience
• Formal engineering qualification (essential)
• Strong fault-finding skills and hands-on mechanical ability
• Able to work days and nights on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern
• Capable of working independently and as part of a wider team
• Some welding/fabrication experience is an advantage
• Willing to travel for work when required
• £18.50 – £22.50 per hour, depending on experience
• Temp-to-perm with long-term career prospects
• 39–60 hours per week with regular overtime
• Day shift opportunities may also be available
• Varied, interesting mechanical work
