What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Provide high-quality, person-centred support to a caseload of LGBT+ survivors of domestic abuse.
  • Offer information, advice, and emotional/practical support to help survivors make informed decisions.
  • Help clients navigate criminal and civil justice systems.
  • Work independently within an NHS environment while maintaining clear professional boundaries.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with NHS staff and other partner agencies.
  • Attend team meetings at partner sites to promote the service and encourage referrals.
  • Make referrals and signpost clients to housing, welfare, counselling, and other essential services.
  • Safeguard clients through effective communication and multi-agency collaboration.
  • Keep accurate case notes and monitoring data.
About You

We're looking for someone who is empathetic, resilient, and confident working with LGBT+ survivors of domestic abuse.

You should bring:

  • Experience supporting people affected by domestic abuse, violence, or other forms of harm (E)
  • Understanding of the needs and experiences of LGBT+ survivors (E)
  • Experience in advocacy, safeguarding, or frontline support (E)
  • Knowledge of safeguarding processes and multi-agency working (E)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (E)
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities (E)
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, person-centred, empowerment-based practice (E)
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with partners and clients (E)
  • Experience in health settings, knowledge of the justice system, or partnership-based working will be beneficial but not essential.
  • You'll need to be comfortable working in an environment where domestic abuse and violence are frequently discussed.
  • Training, supervision, and well-being support will be provided.
