Summary

Location: Fifield, Maidenhead Berkshire with Site visits based in and around the South East counties (including London).

We are a Chartered Design & Build Contractor specialising in the fit out, and refurbishment of commercial and industrial buildings, delivering projects throughout London and the Home Counties.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a UK based Estimator to join a well-established regional main contractor delivering fast-paced commercial and industrial projects with typical contract values of up to £3 million.

Role Overview
Based at our head office, the Estimator will be responsible for supporting the pre-construction team in the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for Main Contracting refurbishment and fit-out projects.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring all tenders and cost plans are prepared to a high professional standard and submitted in accordance with company procedures and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, cost plans, and tender submissions for commercial and industrial projects.
Analyse tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to establish the project scope and prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns.
Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
Prepare and manage bills of quantities and schedules of works where required.
Undertake value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors during the tender process to clarify commercial and technical matters.
Support the preparation of pre-construction documentation and procurement schedules.
Assist in post-tender reviews and the handover of successful bids to the delivery team.
Maintain and update databases for material and subcontractor rates.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum two years’ experience in an estimating role within a main contracting environment.
Proven experience in commercial and industrial design and build or refurbishment projects.
Good working knowledge of JCT forms of contract.
Strong analytical and numerical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Commercial awareness and understanding of construction methods and materials.
Full UK driving licence.
Personal Attributes
