About the Role
Central Bedfordshire Council is seeking a Social Worker – Children & Families to join the Children and Families directorate. This temporary role has been created to cover a vacancy where recruitment has been unsuccessful. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing care proceedings, supporting children in care, and ensuring permanence is achieved in a timely way.

Key Responsibilities
Manage care proceedings to achieve permanence for children.

Undertake assessments and provide clear, evidence-based reports.

Form positive working relationships with families, partner agencies, and legal professionals.

Attend Court and complete care proceedings effectively.

Support children in care to reach their full potential.

Visit children, attend Child in Care Reviews and education meetings.

Advocate for children and young people across all areas of their care plan or pathway plan.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for a qualified and experienced social worker who can demonstrate:

Excellent assessment and communication skills.

Strong organisational ability in a fast-paced environment.

Experience in Court proceedings and care case management.

Ability to build positive relationships with families and professionals.

Commitment to supporting children in care to achieve their potential.

Flexibility to work in a hybrid pattern (office and remote).
