Summary
Are you a graduate who wants to do something meaningful - not just another "graduate scheme"?
If you're kind, patient, and able to bring a calming presence to busy classrooms, this Learning Support Assistant role in Hook could be the perfect way to start your career.
We're working with a warm, welcoming secondary school that's excited to support the right graduate as they step into education for the first time. Whether you're thinking about teaching, SEN, pastoral work or educational psychology, this role will give you genuine, hands-on experience.
And if you've never worked in a school before - honestly, that's absolutely fine.
You'll get:
• Free CPD, SEN training and classroom preparation
• Experience days so you can ease yourself in
• Regular check-ins from a supportive and caring team
• Ongoing guidance with behaviour strategies and communication
• Clear next steps if you decide you want a future in education
We never throw people in at the deep end - you'll always feel supported.
You'll be helping students who need extra support - academically, emotionally, or both.
Your daily responsibilities include:
• Providing 1:1 or small-group support
• Building confidence in students with additional learning needs
• Helping teachers maintain an inclusive, supportive classroom
• Listening, guiding and offering gentle reassurance
• Supporting the SENCO and pastoral staff
• Celebrating progress - every bit of it counts
You'll quickly become a trusted adult for students who genuinely need someone steady and kind.
Graduates who are:
• Considering teaching or SEN careers
• Patient, warm, and calm under pressure
• Great communicators with a caring approach
• Reliable, proactive and compassionate
• Motivated to help students feel seen and understood
No experience required - just empathy and consistency.
• £85-£100 per day (PAYE)
• Free SEND training
• Weekly pay with full transparency
• Temp-to-perm options
• A school that values emotional intelligence as much as academic ability
Location: Hook
Role: Graduate Learning Support Assistant
Hours: 8:30am-3:00pm
Contract: Temp-to-Perm
Pay: From £85/day (PAYE)
