Summary

Multi-Skilled Carpenter/Joiner

Location: Tamworth

Salary/Rate: £24.88

Contract Type: Temp-Perm

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Multi-Skilled Carpenter/Joiner to join our team, delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a social housing contract with the local Council. This is a vital role requiring a strong primary trade skill and proven versatility across various building disciplines.

The Role & Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be high-quality carpentry, complemented by the ability to competently perform tasks across a range of other trades to ensure efficient job completion.

  • Core Trade: Execute all aspects of high-quality carpentry and joinery (first fix, second fix, repairs).

  • Multi-Trade Versatility: Confidently handle tasks across a minimum of three additional trades from the following list:

    • Plumbing (basic repairs/installs)

    • Plastering (patching/repairs)

    • Groundworks (minor repairs)

    • Vinyl floor tile laying (including sub-base preparation)

    • Wall tiling

    • UPVC window/door repairs (mechanisms, locks)

    • Bricklaying (minor repairs)

  • Social Housing Focus: Deliver excellent service while working within tenanted and void domestic properties.

Requirements & Compliance

  • Essential Qualification: Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Property Maintenance or a related trade (e.g., Carpentry/Joinery). Other NVQ qualifications are highly desirable.

  • Required Certifications:

    • CSCS Blue Card (Skilled Worker)

    • Asbestos Awareness

    • Manual Handling

    • Working at Heights

  • Tools: Must own a comprehensive set of professional hand and power tools.
