The Package

• Permanent contract
• 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm)
• Salary of £24,795 per annum (Hourly rate of £13.62)
• Minimum of 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

The Role – Housing Support Officer

We are seeking a positive, hardworking Housing Support Officer to provide an effective and efficient housing management and tenancy support service, enabling residents to enjoy independent living. You will promote active resident participation, by liaising with relevant service providers to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of older people. This will involve:

• Facilitating support for residents to receive relevant services, including welfare checks and advice. Ensuring positive outcomes are achieved
• Providing a range of engagement and involvement activities to promote social inclusion amongst service users. Ensuring events are health and safety compliant
• Assisting with completion of benefit forms and support plans, maintaining accurate records throughout
• Liaising with both internal staff and external contractors to maintain high levels of service in respect of tenancy and maintenance matters
• Acting as first point of call for responding to the call monitoring service provision during office hours

Our Requirements – Housing Support Officer

• An understanding of benefits and claim processes
• An awareness of Health and Safety requirements
• Experience of working in a person-centred environment
• Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team to achieve goals 
• Adaptability to change with a flexible approach to the requirements of the job 
• Availability to respond to emergency or crisis situations for residents during working hours  
• Ability to hold basic everyday conversations in Welsh.
• Full UK drivers’ licence with access to own transport
