Summary
Our client, a well-respected educational institution in Scarisbrick, Lancashire, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with the EYFS team to create and implement individualised support plans for children with SEND
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to children with SEND, adapting activities and resources to meet their specific needs
- Monitoring and recording children's progress, sharing observations and insights with the EYFS team and parents
- Assisting with the preparation of learning materials and resources, ensuring they are accessible and engaging for all learners
- Supporting children with SEND during play, lunch, and outdoor activities, promoting their social interaction and well-being
- Maintaining a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity and encourages all children to reach their full potential
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting those with SEND
- Relevant qualifications in early years education or special educational needs (e.g. , NVQ Level 2 or 3, CACHE, or equivalent)
- Experience working with children in an early years setting, preferably with exposure to supporting children with SEND
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching and learning
- Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and a commitment to promoting inclusive education
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
