Do you speak the language of learning?
Can you turn words into bridges and help students unlock the power of communication?
Are you passionate about guiding young people to find their voice in English while celebrating their home languages?
If so, Queen Katharine Academy wants to hear from you.
Your role:
As an EAL Teaching Assistant – Linguistic Pathway, you’ll be the vital link between language and learning. Every day, you’ll help students overcome barriers to understanding and thrive in a multilingual environment. You’ll clarify instructions, adapt activities, and create resources that make learning accessible and exciting. You’ll also support translation for meetings, assist with home language GCSE and A-level preparation, and champion inclusion for every student.
To succeed, you must be fluent in English and at least one other language, such as Urdu, Arabic, Slovak, Czech, Polish or Lithuanian, because your linguistic skills will be the key to unlocking opportunities for our students. You’ll bring energy, empathy, and a love of language, along with a strong understanding of how children learn. You’ll have the confidence to explain tasks simply while encouraging independence, and you’ll be organised, adaptable, and ready to work collaboratively with teachers and other assistants. Experience supporting students with EAL needs is essential, and a commitment to safeguarding is non-negotiable.
