Job Title: SEMH Learning Support Assistant
Location: Middlesbrough

Hours: 8:30-15:30 full time (term time)
AK Teaching are currently supporting an SEMH school based in Middlesbrough who are seeking a reliable Learning Support Assistant to support across various classes. This is a specialist school for children who have been diagnosed with a Social, Emotional, Mental Health condition such as Autism or ADHD.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of supporting children with special needs and will poses a resilient character and the ability to build rapport easily with students.
The Role
- Term-Time only, Mon to Friday 8.30-3:30pm
- Supporting children who have SEMH and can display challenging behaviour
- Supporting the students with their emotional wellbeing
- Assisting the teacher with delivering a tailored curriculum

- Be dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of children
- Knowledge of and an interest in special educational needs
- Flexibility to support across all primary and secondary ages
- Comfortable supporting with any challenging behaviour that may arise
- Poses a patient and resilient character
- Hold Right to Work in the UK - we do not offer sponsorship so please do not apply unless you are able to live and work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional references
