Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to join our early childhood education team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. Responsibilities
Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times
Foster a warm and welcoming environment that encourages children's curiosity and independence
Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines
Collaborate with colleagues to develop programmes that meet individual needs and nursery standards
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's development and daily activities
Support the training and mentoring of junior staff or interns as required
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and nursery policies
Assist with administrative tasks related to childcare documentation
Requirements
Proven experience working with children within a nursery or childcare setting
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices in childcare
Ability to engage children through creative play and educational activities
Childcare qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent is preferred
A caring, patient, and organised approach to childcare responsibilities
Commitment to safeguarding children’s welfare at all times
