Summary
Edgar, a friendly and sociable man living in the Kilsyth area, is looking for a Male Personal Assistant to support him in his day-to-day life.
He enjoys getting out for walks, spending time with his family, and taking part in social activities such as going to football matches. A positive, proactive approach is essential to help Edgar stay engaged and active in the things he enjoys.
Your role will include:
Preparing meals and healthy snacks
Accompanying Edgar on walks and social/community activities
Supporting days out with family
Household shopping and collecting prescriptions
Assisting with other daily living tasks to promote independence
There is a cat in the home, so you must be comfortable working around pets.
The most important qualities for this role are a warm and friendly nature, a positive attitude, and a genuine desire to support someone in living their best life.
Edgar has a physical and neurological disability and requires one-to-one support both at home and out in the community to help him enjoy a fulfilling, independent life.
Good communication and a friendly, approachable manner will help you build a great connection with Edgar.
A driver is essential – you will either use your own vehicle (mileage allowance paid) or drive a manual or automatic mobility vehicle.
Experience is desirable but not essential if you have the right values and enthusiasm.
Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility):
Positions available between 6 – 9 hours per week
Guaranteed permanent position
Example Schedule:
Weekdays covering Monday – Friday: 11am – 2pm
Occasional weekends and evenings may be available.
Hourly Rate:
£13.00 per hour
