Summary

We are looking for someone to provide companionship and personal care to a 59-year old man who is disabled from a head injury following a road traffic accident 40 years ago.

Location: Initially Kilsyth, relocating to Clackmannan after approx. 4-6 months
Hourly rate: £12.60
Hours: Full time, part time, or zero hours

Alistair lives in his own home and requires 24-hour care, which is provided by a small team of assistants. While night times are usually undisturbed, during the day, Alistair needs help with:
- Washing, dressing, personal care
- Managing medication and supplies
- Transfer using a Molift to and from his wheelchair
- Meal preparation
- Laundry and light housework
- Transport to activities and appointments
- Companionship for conversation, puzzles, and games within the home

We are looking for someone:
- With a good sense of humour
- Who can work independently but also collaborate with the team
- With experience in a care job or a willingness to learn
- With a full, clean driving licence

The following training and qualifications would be an advantage but not essential:
- SVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
- Moving and Handling training

Initial training and supervision will be provided by Alistair’s family and other carers.

We welcome applications from people interested in full-time or part-time contracts or zero-hour contracts to provide holiday cover. You may be interested in a short-term contract while Alistair lives in Kilsyth or a permanent contract, which will involve a change in workplace to Clackmannan after approximately 4-6 months. After the relocation, when Alistair will require predominantly day-time care, the job will be part time with hours to be agreed.

To learn more, email employment@kororaa.com. We will send you a job description and details of how to apply. If you want to discuss with us before applying, please send your phone number.

If you are successful you will need to provide:
- Evidence of your right to work in the UK
- The names of two referees
- Evidence of membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme
