Summary

Shape the Backbone of Our Technology. Make a Real Difference Every Day.

At Jewish Care, we’re on a mission to harness digital technology to improve the way we work — making our teams more efficient, enhancing quality, and helping us deliver even greater care and support to our community.

As part of our ambitious Digital Transformation Programme, we are looking for an experienced and motivated IT Infrastructure Manager to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our technology infrastructure across the organisation.

This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys solving problems, leading technical teams, and driving service excellence.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of IT Delivery, the IT Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for ensuring our systems — from networks and servers to cloud platforms and telephony — are robust, secure, and optimised for performance.

You will lead a small team focused on proactive management of our IT environment, ensuring reliability, compliance, and scalability to meet the organisation’s needs. Working closely with the IT Security & Risk Manager, you’ll help maintain a strong cyber posture and deliver business continuity across all services.

This role plays a key part in shaping how technology supports every area of Jewish Care, combining technical expertise with a strong customer-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the design, maintenance, and performance of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud services, and telephony.
  • Lead and mentor the IT Infrastructure Team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex IT issues passed from the Helpdesk team.
  • Manage and regularly test backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity systems.
  • Support implementation of IT security policies and ensure compliance with GDPR, NHS DSPT, CE+ and other governance standards.
  • Develop and maintain IT infrastructure standards and documentation in line with ITIL best practice.
  • Collaborate with IT and Digital Transformation colleagues to ensure infrastructure meets business needs.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Manage suppliers and external partners to ensure effective delivery of services and value for money.
About You

You are a technically strong and people-focused IT professional, passionate about using technology to make a meaningful difference. You’re as comfortable designing infrastructure and solving problems as you are mentoring your team and communicating with senior stakeholders.

You’ll bring:
  • 5+ years’ experience in IT support and infrastructure roles, with at least 3 years in a management position.
  • Strong technical expertise across Microsoft Azure, Intune, and related cloud and data services.
  • Proven experience managing and supporting networks (Wi-Fi, LAN, WAN), telephony, backup, and disaster recovery systems.
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity and data protection requirements.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and operational best practices.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a “can-do” attitude.
Qualifications
  • Relevant Microsoft Certifications in Azure, Security or Data Services (essential)
  • ITIL v4 Certification (desirable)
  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (desirable)
  • Security-related qualifications (CISSP, ISO27001) – desirable
Why Jewish Care?

At Jewish Care, you’ll join a community that’s passionate about delivering excellence and compassion in everything we do. Technology plays a vital role in that mission — and you’ll be at the heart of it.

Ready to lead infrastructure that empowers people and transforms care?
