Summary
We are seeking a passionate Non-Executive Director to join our Board and help steer the strategic leadership of RJ4All. This advisory role offers a meaningful opportunity to guide one of the world’s leading Restorative Justice institutes, supporting the advancement of our mission while ensuring good governance and accountability. Working closely with the Executive Director and fellow Board members, you will provide independent oversight, contribute to strategic discussions, and help shape organisational goals and policies. As an ambassador for RJ4All, you will represent the organisation at meetings and public events, strengthening partnerships and promoting our vision of empowering communities through Restorative Justice.
Key Details
Location: Hybrid working. Working onsite at the RJ4All Rotherhithe Community Centre, 30 Plough Way, SE16 2LJ
Work schedules: Quarterly board meetings and away day (minimum 3 board meeting and the away day)
Contract: 2-years newable terms
Salary range: Up to £50 per physical meeting (voluntary)

Key tasks
- Provide strategic guidance and oversight to support RJ4All’s mission and governance
- Represent RJ4All at meetings, events, and within professional networks as an ambassador for Restorative Justice
- Take part in occasional tasks such as staff interviews, fundraising activities, or project involvement
Qualifications
Essential
Knowledge of board governance & fiduciary duties
Familiarity with UK company law & CIC regulations
Strong communication skills & high ethical standards
Commitment: 3 Board meetings + 1 away day/year
Clear DBS check, no convictions/bankruptcy
RJ4All membership (can apply before appointment)
Desirable
Experience serving on a non-profit or community interest company board.
Understanding of Restorative Justice, social justice, or community development work.
Familiarity with governance, risk management, or compliance oversight.
Ability to act as an ambassador, building partnerships and representing RJ4All externally.
Strategic mindset with an interest in supporting organisational growth and community impact.
