Summary

Youth Club Manager
(previously listed as Strategic Youth Lead - previous applicants need not apply)

Responsibility: To lead 3 Youth Workers and co-ordinate planning and delivery of our 2 Youth club sessions (Wednesday and Friday evenings 18:30-21:00) over 46 weeks a year. To lead 2 Project Workers and co-ordinate planning ad delivery of 1 Junior Youth Club session (Wednesday 15:30-17:00) over 39 weeks.

Hours: 9 (must include 14:30-17:30 every term time Wednesday and 18:00-18:30 46 Wednesdays per year, with a requirement to lead some of the period from 18:30-21:00 on Wednesdays and/or some of the period from 18:30-21:00 46 Fridays per year. The period for which leadership takes place across the 2 youth club nights is flexible.

We are seeking a dynamic, committed and enthusiastic manager to join our youth work team. You will plan, prepare and deliver a programme of activities for local young people aged 9-19 years over 2 Youth club nights per week (Wednesday and Friday 18:00-21:30) and one after school session per week for children in school years 5 and 6. You will lead and oversee the work of tow small teams of 3 Youth workers and 2 Project workers.

Creating and sustaining strong and supportive relationships with young people sits at the heart of our programme and we are seeking someone who will share in this philosophy. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for the right person, leading the team in continuing to build positive relationships with the young people, contributing to building confidence whilst providing new and innovative opportunities to young people.

Preferably, you are a holder of a Level 3 Youth Work Qualification, you will be used to working with young people and delivering community projects. you should have a sound knowledge of issues affecting young people, such as safeguarding, mental health needs, SEND and the threats carried by online activity and alcohol/substance use.
