Hours: 16.25 per weekSalary: Actual Salary (Grade D) £11,120 - £11,770We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic After School Club Manager for our growing after-school club based at Maple Infants’ School. We require someone who will create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for our children and ensure high quality care. You will need to be able to construct and deliver a suite of age-appropriate activities that engage and inspire the children whilst in the care of the club. You will deploy your play workers efficiently each day and liaise with the School Business Manager if cover staff are required. The after school club is expanding and the Club Manager role is being enhanced. Therefore, this role is initially offered as one-year fixed term. The role will become permanent once the funding and staffing model is confirmed. Purpose of the Job To lead and be responsible for the day to day organisation of the after-school care provision at Maple Infants’ School providing high standards of care and play opportunities for children between the ages of 4-7 years old in a safe, clean and secure environment.

To ensure the wellbeing and safeguarding of all the children and staff and immediately report any concerns to the designated safeguarding lead as necessary. To manage, supervise and support school club staff to ensure a high level of service whilst adhering to policies and procedures. To plan and organise the delivery of a variety of stimulating play activities and experiences appropriate to the children’s age and developmental stages and provide a termly plan/timetable to the School Business Manager/Head teacher. To plan weekly menus for a daily light snack for all children attending the provision ensuring compliance with The School Food Plan. To prepare/oversee the safe preparation of food taking into account food hygiene procedures and strictly adhering to children’s dietary requirements (including food allergies) To take stock and provide details of food to be ordered, in a timely manner to the afterschool club admin assistant. To manage the daily staffing level of the provision and to organise staff cover for sickness and other absences. Meet regularly with the School Business Manager to discuss planning and report on progress of the provision. To supervise and set clear expectations for all staff working in the after school club. To ensure that the areas used by the afterschool club provision are left in a tidy state after each session. Liaise with outside agencies where appropriate. To attend training as agreed with the School Business Manager to support your development. To keep attendance records of children using the extended provision, with all children signed in by staff and signed out by the parent/carer or named adult previously provided. To comply with the schools health and safety guidelines, equal opportunities policy and the school’s values. Purchasing of necessary resources in line with the school’s procedures. Regular maintenance and tidying of equipment. To provide first aid and adhere to children’s individual care plans as required. To take responsibility for the care of the children at the end of the session. Make every effort to contact the parent/carer of any child who has not been collected at the end of the session. Inform the SLT if a child is not collected and no message has been received after an agreed time. Closing Date: 9am Monday 1st December 2025
