This is an exciting opportunity to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Rugby as a Year 4 SEN Teaching Assistant, providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder who is working within the EYFS curriculum.

You'll play a vital role in helping this pupil engage in learning, communication and social interaction adapting EYFS-based activities, using structured routines and employing visual or sensory strategies to promote progress and confidence. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCo, you'll help create a calm, nurturing space where learning feels meaningful, accessible, and fun.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 support for a pupil with ASD, adapting EYFS curriculum activities to meet individual learning needs.
- Use structured routines, visual timetables, and communication supports (PECS, Makaton, symbols) to build understanding and engagement.
- Create a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment that encourages confidence, focus, and emotional regulation.
- Liaise with the class teacher, SENCo, and parents to share progress and adapt strategies as required.
- Promote social interaction and positive relationships with peers through supported play and group activities.
- Contribute to the wider classroom environment and assist with day-to-day tasks where needed.

Candidate Requirements:
- Experience & Qualifications: Level 2/3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent), with at least 1 year's experience supporting pupils with ASD or SEN in a primary setting.
- Skills & Knowledge: Confident using EYFS-based approaches, visual supports, and communication strategies (PECS, Makaton, structured play).
- Personal Qualities: Empathetic, patient, and positive - with a genuine commitment to helping children overcome barriers to learning and develop confidence and independence.
