Elwood Recruitment are seeking Residential Support Workers to join a respected children’s care provider in Wolverhampton. This service specialises in supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
About the Role
Working as a Residential Support Worker is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to be a mentor, advocate, and role model. You’ll play a key part in providing high quality care and support tailored to the individual needs of the children and young people within the service. This is a rewarding role working with a supportive team in creating a nurturing, safe, and empowering environment where young people can grow, heal, and thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver compassionate, high-quality care in line with organisational standards, policies, and current legislation.
Build strong and positive trusting relationships with young people to support their personal growth and development.
Contribute to the creation and implementation of individual care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans.
Support young people in their education, health, and well-being by maintaining communication with schools, attending appointments, and facilitating activities.
Performing household tasks to maintain a positive home atmosphere.
Actively participate in team meetings, training, and personal development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Transport young people to appointments, education, and recreational activities as required.
What We’re Looking For
Empathetic and resilient individuals with a compassion and a flexible approach to their work.
A genuine desire to help young people overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a commitment to supporting colleagues and young people.
Ability to write clear and concise reports.
Experience working with vulnerable young people (desirable but not essential).
Qualifications and Requirements
Willingness to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care (or equivalent) within an agreed time frame.
Full UK driving licence (essential).
Ability to work in a busy and dynamic environment, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
