You will play a vital role in providing high-quality care for children and young people in a children’s residential home, specialising in emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and learning disabilities.

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will lead by example, providing care and support that enables children and young people to thrive. You will take responsibility for managing shifts, supervising staff, and ensuring that the home operates effectively in the absence of the Home Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support the team to deliver exceptional care, maintaining the home’s nurturing and therapeutic environment.
Manage health and safety processes, monitor risk assessments, and maintain compliance with regulations.
Supervise and support staff, offering guidance and ensuring high standards of care.
Facilitate the induction and development of new staff members.
Provide direct care to children and young people, acting as a positive role model and contributing to their emotional, social, and educational development.
Create and implement individual care plans, behaviour support strategies, and risk management plans in collaboration with professionals and families.
Monitor and record children’s progress, writing high-quality reports for reviews and meetings.
Work closely with external professionals, schools, and families to achieve the best outcomes for the children and young people.
Promote a culture of safeguarding, ensuring the welfare of all young people in the home.
Maintain the home environment to the highest standards, including household responsibilities and budget management.
What We’re Looking For

A strong leader with excellent communication, organisational, and team-working skills.
Full UK driving licence (essential).
Experience working with vulnerable children or young people in a residential setting.
A commitment to safeguarding, therapeutic care, and creating a positive environment for young people.
Resilience and the ability to manage in a dynamic, sometimes pressured environment.
A Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is essential.
Awareness of the Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards 2015.
