About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs in one of our partner schools. This is a rewarding long-term role, ideal for individuals passionate about helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities:
-Providing 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, learning difficulties).
-Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
-Helping create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.
-Using strategies such as visual aids, PECS, sensory breaks, and structured routines.
-Encouraging pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
-Managing challenging behaviours using positive behaviour techniques.
-Supporting personal care needs where required.
-Recording pupil progress and reporting to teaching staff and SENCO.
Requirements:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, care, residential, or similar).
-Strong communication and teamwork skills.
-A patient, calm, and nurturing approach.
-Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
-Willingness to follow individual EHCPs and adapt to pupil needs.
-Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
