Are you ready to make a real difference?

We're looking for an exceptional procurement professional to lead and transform our procurement function across our growing Multi-Academy Trust. This isn't just another procurement role - it's your opportunity to build something meaningful from the ground up, driving innovation and excellence across our entire Trust.

The Opportunity

As our Procurement and Contracts Manager, you'll be at the heart of our Central Team, wielding genuine influence and autonomy to design and implement a forward-thinking procurement strategy that directly supports better outcomes for thousands of students.

You'll be the senior authority on all things procurement, trusted by leaders and governors alike, shaping how we work with suppliers, manage contracts, and deliver value for money across multiple academies. This is strategic leadership with your fingerprints all over it.

What You'll Do

Think Strategically: Develop and deliver a dynamic 5-year procurement strategy that aligns with our Trust's mission and drives measurable savings and quality improvements.

Lead with Authority: Serve as the Trust's principal procurement advisor, providing expert guidance to senior leaders and ensuring full compliance with complex public sector regulations.

Drive Innovation: Identify opportunities for collaboration and framework utilisation that leverage our collective buying power and deliver real value.

Build Relationships: Lead strategic supplier partnerships, negotiate contracts, and implement performance management systems that hold suppliers accountable while driving continuous improvement.

Empower Others: Develop and deliver training that upskills staff across the Trust, building procurement capability and creating a culture of best practice.

Deliver Excellence: Use data-driven analysis to benchmark performance, identify efficiencies, and demonstrate the tangible impact of your work.

Who You Are

You're a procurement professional with at least 5 years' experience who understands the nuances of public sector procurement inside and out. You have in-depth knowledge of compliance frameworks, the Academies Trust Handbook (preferable), and Public Contracts Regulations - and you know how to make compliance work in practice, not just in theory.

You're commercially astute, strategic, and operational in equal measure. You can influence senior stakeholders, negotiate with suppliers, and inspire teams. You're energetic and innovative, with a passion for excellence and the drive to pursue it relentlessly.

Whether you hold (or are working towards) a CIPS qualification at level 4/5 or above, you bring proven expertise in strategic procurement and contract management in complex organisations. Experience in education or the public sector would be ideal, but what matters most is your ability to deliver results.

Why Join Us?

Impact: Your work will directly support the educational mission of our Trust and improve outcomes for students.

Autonomy: Build and shape a procurement function with real strategic influence.

Development: We're committed to your professional growth, with support for relevant qualifications and training.

Community: Join a supportive Central Team and become an ambassador for a Trust with a strong Catholic ethos and commitment to excellence.

Variety: No two days are the same - you'll work on everything from strategic planning to supplier negotiations, from policy development to stakeholder training.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

If you're excited by the prospect of leading procurement transformation in a values-driven education environment, we want to hear from you.

This is your chance to use your expertise where it truly matters - supporting schools, staff, and ultimately, students to thrive.

To apply, please submit your application by pressing 'Apply Now' ensuring that within your supporting statement you demonstrate how you meet the person specification.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
