Summary

Are you passionate about providing opportunities to access Higher Education to under-represented groups, through the delivery of exciting university developed programmes?

About the role
Under the direction of the Access and Participation Outreach Team Leader, you will contribute to the continual development and delivery of some of our attainment-raising access programmes and outreach activities to under-represented groups, as part of our institutional ambition for inclusivity and access, and commitments laid out in our Access and Participation Plan. With a focus on attainment-raising to pre-entry students to the University of Plymouth, you will play a key part in helping students in the local area with key skills that will form an important part of their ability to attain better results.

For this role, you will need to be on site 3 days a week. Although we can accommodate working from home for this role, flexibility to be on-site will be expected due to business needs.

This role will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check plus a Children’s Barred List check.

There is an essential requirement within this role that you will be required to travel to and work at different University sites and/or other business locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Please refer to the job description for further information.

What we’re looking for
1. Working as part of the wider team and with student ambassadors, overseeing the planning and delivery of a pre-16 attainment raising programme in a number of local schools.
2. More broadly, supporting with the organistation and delivery of a range of the university's access projects, working with both internal and external stakeholders.
3. Assisting the wider Outreach team on their work with local and national schools and colleges
4. Supporting Outreach and Student Recruitment Events such as school conferences, subject showcases, campus visits and tours, and school talks and fairs.
