Assistant Site Manager - Residential
Location: Sites across Essex including: Braintree, Colchester and Chelmsford
Salary: £45-£50k + Package
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Assistant Site Manager to join our growing residential construction team. Working closely with the Site Manager, you will help oversee the delivery of high-quality housing developments — ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their construction career and gain hands-on management experience.
Key Responsibilities-
Support the Site Manager in the day-to-day running of the site.

Supervise and coordinate trades and subcontractors to ensure work is completed on time and to specification.

Carry out site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular health & safety checks.

Monitor progress against the build programme and assist with reporting.

Ensure quality control and snagging are completed to company and NHBC standards.

Maintain accurate records, including site diaries, delivery notes, and inspection reports.

Foster a positive, collaborative site culture, promoting safety and teamwork.
About You-
Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager, Site Supervisor, or Finishing Foreman on residential housing projects.

Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and health & safety practices.

Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

SMSTS (or SSSTS), CSCS card, and First Aid at Work certification required.

A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop.

IT literate – experience with MS Office and site management software desirable.
