We are seeking a resilient, compassionate, and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a Leasowe-based school. This role involves working with children who present very challenging behaviour, as well as pupils with Autism (ASC), and requires someone who can build trust, remain calm under pressure, and provide consistent support.
Alongside the staff you will be responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a 1:1 or small group setting
- Assist with emotional regulation, behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Implement personalised learning approaches under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
- Promote a safe, positive and structured learning environment
- Build strong, professional relationships with pupils, staff and parents
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs
- Experience or understanding of Autism (ASC)
- Strong behaviour management techniques and resilience
- A calm, patient and supportive approach
- A desire to make a meaningful difference to pupils with additional needs

o References confirming suitability for role
o Commitment to Safeguarding
o Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service
o Eligibility to work in the UK
