Summary

You will be working from the Lancaster University campus with opportunities to work remotely up to 2 days per week. This is a Fixed Term until 31 July 2026.

We’re looking for a strategic and proactive Interim Risk and Resilience Manager to help us safeguard our future and strengthen our ability to respond to challenges, through a time of significant change.

This is a key role within our Strategic Planning and Governance Division supporting the maintenance and development of a resilient, risk-aware culture across the University. You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels to ensure our risk management and business continuity frameworks are robust, responsive, and fit for purpose.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the development and implementation of the University’s risk management and resilience strategies.
  • Monitor emerging risks and trends, ensuring the University remains agile and well-prepared.
  • Provide expert advice on risk mitigation, incident response, and business continuity planning.
  • Support governance reporting and assurance processes, including risk registers and committee papers.
  • Deliver training and engagement activities to build capability and awareness across the institution.
  • Be the University's Prevent Lead.

About You

You’ll bring a confident, collaborative approach and a strong track record in risk and resilience. You’ll be comfortable working with complexity, and able to translate strategic priorities into practical action. We’re looking for someone who is experienced in risk management and/or business continuity in a complex organisation and is a clear communicator, able to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
