Summary
Who is Southwell Racecourse and Golf Course?
Set the in the town of Southwell near Newark and one of only six all-weather racecourse tracks in the UK, Southwell has its own unique charm and character, making it one of the premier sporting venues in the East Midlands. After previously owning the UK’s only fibresand surface All-Weather track, Southwell switched over to a Tapeta surface as of 2021. With racing on both All-Weather and Turf tracks taking place throughout the year, we are one of the country's busiest racecourses.
Not only are we Horseracing at Southwell we are also home to Southwell Golf Club. The course has two contrasting nine holes. The Front 9 sits within Southwell Racecourse and is characterised by a large number of water hazards. The 7th hole, a 138 yards par 3 with an island green is Southwell’s signature hole.
About the role
As a Catering Assistant at our Golf Club, you will play an important part in ensuring a welcoming and professional environment for all members and guests. Your responsibilities will include:
Upholding the club’s rules, standards, and codes of conduct at all times.
Reporting any incidents, concerns, or suspicious activity to management promptly.
Assisting with the setup and coordination of club events and functions.
Carrying out regular checks to ensure the clubhouse complies with health and safety regulations.
Supporting or supervising the operation of the clubhouse bar, particularly during busy periods and competition days.
Delivering exceptional customer service to enhance the overall member and guest experience.

What is Casual work?
Casual work is a great solution as it enables you to work flexibly around other commitments in your life. Once you have registered your interest, we will contact you in advance to offer you department based shifts at racedays or events. There are usually a range of shifts available and opportunities for work are based on busy seasons and the annual racing calendar. Positions will be allocated on the day as part of the briefing.
