Pay Rate: £372.50 per day + expenses for any travel not including local hub + accrued holiday pay + pension contributions
Hours per week: 37
Contract Length: 5 months (this may be extended)
Location: 60% office / site based – Various locations: Sheffield, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Blackpool, Glasgow
This role is hybrid based

Our client is seeking an Asset Manager/Asbestos Specialist to join their Estates function Team during a transformative period, helping to ensure our buildings remain safe, compliant, and fit for the future. You will take the lead on asbestos management across the estate, acting as a subject matter expert and ensuring full legal compliance, safety, and best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead asbestos management activities across a large and varied estate, ensuring compliance and safety at all times.
Maintain and update asbestos registers, surveys, and risk assessments.
Collaborate with consultants and contractors to ensure effective performance and compliance with regulations.
Provide technical advice and support on asbestos-related issues to internal stakeholders.
Review documentation and oversee corrective actions to address findings.
Support data collection and analysis to inform asset management and decision-making.
Assist with audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Contribute to policy development and support long-term strategic planning.
Essential Experience & Skills:
Significant experience managing asbestos across large or complex estates.
Strong knowledge of asbestos legislation, guidance, and compliance frameworks.
Proven experience working with outsourced service providers, consultants, and contractors.
Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
Strong organisational skills, with experience in auditing and compliance monitoring.
Qualifications (Essential):
BOHS P402 & P405 (or equivalent).
NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
Desirable:
BOHS P403/404.
HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
NEBOSH Diploma.
Chartered Membership (e.g., IMechE, CIBSE).
Leadership Attributes:

Build strong collaborative relationships across teams and functions.
Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
