Summary

CNC Milling machine programmer/ Setter/ Operator

We are seeking a skilled Cnc milling machine programmer/Setter/Operator to join our machine shop in Long eaton. This role involves programming,Setting and operating CNC milling machines to produce high quality, Low volume, small batch components. The position require precision, efficiency and a strong focus on quality to support our reputation as a market leader in the design and manufacture of Technical teaching equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Programming, setting and operating. Programme set and operate CNC milling machines preferably HAAS to produce precision engineering products.

Create CNC programs, Jigs and fixtures for new components.

Optimise machining methods to ensure components are produced in the most efficient manner.

Where applicable, set and run multiple machines to maximise productivity.

Self inspection

Conduct a thorough self inspection of components using manual measuring equipment

Verify that all work meets drawing specifications and quality standards

Promptly identify and report any issues affecting quality and efficiency

Technical support and Continuous Improvement.

Contribute to process improvements and provide feedback to enhance Machining methods and efficiency

Work with engineering teams to resolve technical queries relating to new and existing components.

Workplace maintenance

Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment in line with company health and saftey.

Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience in programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines HAAS preferred.

Apprentice trained or equivalent background in CNC machining within a production driven environment.

Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings

Conventional milling/bridgeport experience desirable.

Experience with edgecam programming software is advantageous

Flexible, positive and proactive attitude with commitment to quality.

Compliance

Adhere to company policies outlined in the employee handbook including health, safety, Environmental and equal opportunity guidelines

Follow standard operating procedures (SOPS) and processes in accordance with ISO 9001 quality management systems.

Participate in training, development and evaluations as required.

Efficiently produce machines components within agreed timescales

Maintain high quality standards for all manufactured parts

Support continuous improvement by suggesting methods to improve machining efficiency, Accuracy or process flow.

07:00 - 3.30 mon - thurs and 07:00-12.30 on a Friday no lunch break.
