Summary
To follow and regularly review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring compliance with national accreditation standards (UKAS, MHRA, HTA) and internal quality management systems including COSHH, risk assessments, and audits. To perform and validate complex manual and automated laboratory tests, including precision pipetting, reagent preparation, and technical verification to maintain result accuracy and reliability. To calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex laboratory equipment and software to ensure smooth and uninterrupted service delivery. To accurately record, validate, and authorise laboratory results in the pathology system while maintaining compliance with data and reporting standards. To interpret and release laboratory results, add relevant technical comments, escalate critical findings, and communicate effectively with clinical teams, ensuring timely and accurate patient care decisions. To engage in method evaluation, research, and development projects, stay updated with current laboratory practices, and contribute to achieving key performance indicators (e.g. TATs)..
