About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established care provider for a Registered Manager to open and lead a brand-new EBD children’s home in the Bridgwater (TA6) area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced manager to take the next step—to shape a new service from the ground up, build a passionate care team, and create a safe, nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management and registration of the new 4-bed EBD home.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a team of 7–9 care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
• Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
• Oversee care planning, safeguarding, and behaviour management to support positive outcomes for young people.
• Build effective relationships with external professionals, families, and placing authorities.
• Drive performance, occupancy, and quality within the home.
• Promote a culture of care, respect, and ambition for both staff and residents.
About You
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and children’s residential care standards.
• Previous experience managing or deputising within an EBD setting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Passionate about creating a supportive, child-centred home with a focus on positive outcomes.
• Able to lead by example and inspire a new team.

• Salary: £44,425.86 per year (OTE up to £53,725.86 with bonuses)
• Annual Leave: 22 days plus Bank Holidays
• Pension: 9% employer contribution (non-contributory)
• Company Sick Pay (after 6 months’ probation)

• Ofsted Performance Bonus: £500–£1,000
