Position
Adult Learning Navigator
Based: Parcel Terrace, Derby
Salary: £17,706 PA
Hours: 25 hrs per week

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join the YMCA; a charity at the heart of the community in Derby and Derbyshire. You’ll be a hands-on and proactive professional who can engage those facing barriers such as poverty, housing insecurity and accessing appropriate employment.
Essentially you will have great organisational skills, and the confidence to make things happen. Above all, you’ll share our belief that everyone deserves the chance to flourish in body, mind, and spirit—and you’ll bring energy, empathy, and positivity to everything you do.
Requirements
Essential:
Commitment to YMCA Derbyshire’s values and aims.
Understanding of safeguarding principles for children, young people, and adults at risk.
Awareness of barriers people face when accessing training, education, and employment.
Knowledge of local services, training providers, and employment pathways (or willingness to learn).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport with individuals and professionals.
Ability to engage, motivate, and support people to achieve their goals.
Good organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
Accurate record-keeping and monitoring skills.
Ability to problem-solve and adapt in challenging situations.
Experience of effective team working.
IT skills, including Microsoft Office and use of databases.
