About the Individual Requiring Support:
I am 54 years old. I had a stroke in November 2023. I have limited use of my right leg and no use of my right arm.
I like to do craft and art. I enjoy attending my clubs in the village like craft club, church coffee mornings and going to church. I like to help prepare and cook meals and I enjoy baking.
I often need prompting to do things and plenty of encouragement. Sometimes I feel sad and this makes me not want to do things, but with encouragement I often change my mind.
I have lots of friends in the village who I see regularly. I like to see my family most weeks.
I like to watch TV and play board games.
When the weather is nice I enjoy gardening and being outside. I would like to find someone who will enjoy helping me with doing all these things.
I was born with a learning disability, so I need support with paperwork, appointments, making and taking phone calls and someone who can help advocate for me.
I am unable to walk and need to be pushed in a wheelchair to move around. I use a ReTurn device for my transfers.
I live in my own home with the support of a PA. I had lived with my mum all my life until she passed away in January 2025. I have a PA who works with me Monday to Friday and I am looking for another PA to support me on a Sunday. I also have an agency carer for 45 minutes every morning to help my PA get me up, bathed and dressed, as this requires assistance of 2 people.
Weekly Hours:
The 12.25 hours will be used on a Sunday from 8.15am till 8.30pm. The hourly rate for self-employed PA £15.60.
