Pay: £90 - £110 per day (pro rata, dependent on experience)
A lovely SEND school in Rossendale is looking for a caring and experienced Autism Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for a child with autism.
The Role
As an Autism Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Work directly with a child with autism, supporting their learning and development.
- Provide encouragement and reassurance to help them engage in classroom activities.
- Support with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to follow individualised support strategies.
- Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
Working hours:
- Monday - Friday: 8.30pm - 3:30pm
What We're Looking For
- Experience supporting children with autism (essential).
- A patient, understanding, and supportive approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust.
- A team player who can work closely with school staff and parents.
Essential Requirements
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS certificate (on the Update Service or willingness to apply - support available).
- A full and up-to-date CV outlining SEN experience.
