Summary
Sandfield Close is seeking an experienced Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team in the DSP. Our 12 place DSP caters for children with Autism and Communication and Interaction needs. This is a fixed-term contract to start as soon as possible, until the end of the academic year.
What we offer:
• Salary: Grade 3, Spinal Point 5 – Full-time equivalent (FTE) £25,583 per annum (actual salary £19,187 per annum)
• Hours: 30 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks per year)
• Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)
Please note: This post is funded through SEND provision and is not a permanent role. Should the supported child leave the school, a four-week notice period will apply.
About the role:
You will:
• Support pupils with Autism and Communication and Interaction needs
• Deliver personalised provision and targeted interventions
• Be knowledgeable and confident with using a range of SEND strategies to support the children
• Use your initiative and SEND experience to help pupils achieve their targets
• Maintain accurate SEND provision records
• Meet the well-being, personal and intimate care of our pupils
• Communicate effectively with both children and adults
We are looking for someone who:
• Is caring, patient, and proactive
• Works effectively in a small team
• Enjoys working in a collaborative school environment
• Has practical knowledge of SEND strategies and interventions
