About the Service

Elwood Recruitment are appointing experienced residential children’s support workers. You will provide support to children and young people age 5-18 yrs who have moderate to severe learning disabilities, behavioural challenges, ADHD and autism spectrum disorder.

You will work with the young people to promote daily living skills, assist and support to self-regulate and develop independent living skills in line with a support plan which has been designed around the young person.

As part of the care and support team you will assist in maintaining a safe and enabling environment that provides positive experiences to children living within the service.

Successful applicants will be:

· Supporting, mentoring and educating children with day to day activities to develop their emotional and social needs

· Developing personal and practical skills to enhance independent living

· Positive engagement to encourage children and young people in their development

· Reporting and recording key aspects of care and developing your professional skills as part of on-going development plan.

· Managing complex and behaviours that may challenge

· Support and engagement with a range of activities

On offer we have flexible shift patterns to suit your lifestyle, giving you full control of when you would like to work. Candidates can expect to be offered a mixture of earlies, lates, long days and waking nights on a weekly basis.

Essential Experience:

Care & Support Work: 6 Months in the UK
Essential Qualifications:

QCF/NVQ Level 3 Children & Young People
