About the Service
Elwood Recruitment are recruiting dedicated, experienced and committed support workers to provide care and support to vulnerable children and young people within a residential short breaks service based in Wolverhampton.
As part of the care and support team you will assist in providing varied and exciting activities, provide positive experiences and independent living skills to children and young people with complex health needs, physical and learning disabilities (LD).
You will work with age ranges 5-18 yrs and be required to support individuals living with profound learning difficulties.
Successful applicants will be:
Supporting, mentoring and educating children with day to day activities to develop their emotional and social needs
Developing personal and practical skills to enhance independent living
Positive engagement to encourage children and young people in their development
Reporting and recording key aspects of care and developing your professional skills as part of on-going development plan.
Managing complex and behaviours that may challenge
Support and engagement with a range of activities
On offer we have flexible shift patterns to suit your lifestyle, giving you full control of when you would like to work. Candidates can expect to be offered a mixture of earlies, lates, long days and waking nights on a weekly basis.
Essential Experience:
Care & Support Work: 6 Months in the UK
Essential Qualifications:
QCF/NVQ Level 3 Children & Young People
