Are you passionate about giving back to your local community? Have you supported the running of a volunteer organisation before?
Have you seen the Street Pastors in action?

If you want to join an established community project who are making a demonstrable difference to the lives of vulnerable people,
this could be your perfect opportunity!

We are looking for a Street Pastor Coordinator to join our team in a paid, part time position for 15 hours per week.

This role has 3 main aspects:

Volunteer Engagement

You will lead the support and engagement with our volunteer group; from building relationships with our current volunteers,
providing pastoral care when required to recruiting new volunteers.

Build Links to the Community

You will also liaise with the local churches to build on the relationship we already have with local groups to enhance and support
this project deliveries.

Ambassador

Act as a representative at local Council meetings and other meetings to champion the project to develop opportunities for further
potential funding opportunities and the long-term expansion of the project.

You can also expect your role to include:

* You will work alongside our Operational Lead and provide them additional support for large events such as Splendor, Pride and
Fresher's Week.
* You will attend Ascension Trust gatherings and other ad-hoc meetings when required to maintain relationships with other
charities and organisations.
* To oversee the coordination of the Street Pastor and Prayer Pastor rotas to ensure volunteer coverage is met for shifts.
* Join the Street Pastor team on shift once a month to gain valuable insight to the experiences of your volunteers.
* Provide on call cover during Friday and Saturday shifts (every other weekend).
* Ensure that Street Pastor and YMCA policies and procedures are being followed.
* Work with the YMCA finance team, to support project spend in line with budget and record purchases following the correct
processes.
* Liaise with the Police and Nottingham BID to ensure there are enough Safe Spaces available.
* Support the Safe Space for shifts and ensure all Safe Spaces are fully stocked.
* Prepare the annual report to stakeholders and partners.
* Lead on the recruitment of new volunteers by meeting with people who have applied to volunteer to assess their suitability for
the role.
* Lead on fundraising for the project including letters, talks, and general communication about the project
* Follow the health and safety procedures to ensure all incidents are recorded and appropriately followed up to ensure the
wellbeing of our volunteers.

About you:

If you have a background in volunteer coordination or management and have experience of managing funded projects, we would love to
hear from you. We are exceptionally proud of the achievements of the Street Pastors and are looking for someone really special to
take the lead of this impactful community project.

With a background in administration, you will be naturally organised with fantastic attention to detail. You will be a confident
communicator, a people person, who seeks out conversation and enjoys being with people. Your caring nature means you will be able
to work with our volunteers and the people we support with ease.

This is a really varied role where you will be able to get involved with all elements of running a project. From events planning,
recruitment, managing budgets and overseeing safeguarding, you will be able to draw on the diverse range of experienced you will
have gain in previous roles.

Due to the way this project is funded through the Ascension Trust, you will need to be a Christian, as with all our volunteer
Street Pastors.

Working 15 hours per week, we think 5 hours over 3 days would work well but we can be quite flexible to fit around your other
commitments and those of the role. There will be a requirement to be on the rota yourself once a month on either a Friday or
Saturday night. This would count towards your weekly hours.

Based from the Malt Cross in Nottingham City Centre, the YMCA Robin Hood Group are delighted to support the great work of the
Street Pastors by providing the central meeting point and a place to work.
