Summary
Teaching Assistant
We at Courtney are looking for experienced and dynamic TA.
Courtney Primary is a friendly school with a welcoming team. We are fortunate to be able to work in a bright, modern building with wonderful grounds and views.
The ideal Teaching Assistant should: A good standard of general education, to include literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to NVQ2 in English and Maths. Good interpersonal skills with both adults and children. NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or other relevant qualification with some practical experience of working with children, or; A good understanding/previous experience of working with children in an educational context with evidence of relevant training in the appropriate age range or curriculum/learning area. Ability to use ICT effectively to support pupils’ learning. Working knowledge of national/foundation stage curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies. Must be willing to undertake further professional development. Examples of other relevant experience or training may be specified to meet the needs- • Have experience working as an Early Years, Key Stage 1 or 2 Class Teaching Assistant or SEN TA • Be flexible and patient • Be able to communicate effectively within a team • Be compassionate and an awareness of attachment • Be creative and caring You will need to show a good understanding of children’s development and take a lead in organising tasks which enable personalised targets to be met. This job is Monday to Friday, 8:30-3:30 term time only, including insets. Courtney is a close-knit, caring but highly ambitious school. The school is at an exciting point in its journey.
